Drive A Massive Luxury SUV Without Any Guilt : The 2010 Cadillac Escalade Hybrid

 

The Escalade is one of Cadillac’s most popular and best-selling SUV’s, known for its imposing look on the streets and over-the-top styling. This big and luxurious SUV has received a lot of attention in the media; it’s often a fixture in many music videos and numerous celebrities drive an Escalade including; Jessica Simpson, Travis Barker, Shaquille O’Neal and Justin Timberlake. This is the perfect car to drive when you want to make a grand entrance at the latest night club or movie premier but it’s still perfect as a daily driver. You can’t get any more versatile than that. The 2010 Escalade Hybrid is powered by a 6.0 L V8 Engine while a 300 volt battery pack powers the electricity used to run the motors. The engine and battery pack combine together for a total power output of 332 HP and 367 lb ft of torque. Gas mileage stands at 21 mpg on the freeway and 20 mpg in the city, a significant improvement over the regular Escalade’s mileage of 12 mpg in the city. The powertrain allows the SUV to travel up to 25 mph by just using the battery power. Another cool feature of this engine is that it can pretty much turn the V8 into a V4 under light load conditions via the Active Fuel Management System and as a result be much more fuel efficient. Despite the heft and size of this SUV, accelerating is a breeze and super fast. The fuel tank capacity is at 26 gallons.

Like all Escalade models, the Hybrid version is super roomy and easily seats eight passengers. There loads of luxurious amenities inside to make you feel like Hollywood VIP including tri-zone climate control, an advanced touch screen navigation system with turn by turn directions, an incredible Bose audio system, attention getting 22” chrome wheels, and a sunroof. The seats are appointed in rich leather and the driver seat features memory setting and is power adjustable. There is a Escalade Platinum Edition Hybrid available at an additional cost which includes special LED headlights, a heated steering wheel, cup holders which can be cooled and heated plus video monitors installed in the back of the front headrests.

This 2010 Escalade Hybrid is packed to the brim with safety features such as Cadillac StabiliTrak stability control system which can brake selectively and helps to prevent rollovers, a four wheel anti-lock braking system, four wheel disc brakes, On Star Emergency Services, side curtain airbags, side chest airbags and a tire pressure monitor. This SUV earned five star ratings for head on collisions during government crash safety tests.

At a starting price of around $73k this car doesn’t come cheap but keep in mind that this SUV incorporates the highest level of craftsmanship and most advanced engineering available. You will feel like a celebrity driving this car, better yet an environmentally conscious celebrity! Nothing says extravagance and opulence like an Escalade. It is one of the trendiest and most popular SUV’s on the market and incredibly popular with many celebs and pro-athletes.
