How To Show Off Your Masterpieces Perfectly!
I’m going to give you some guidelines from interior designers for displaying art, but remember that rules are made to be broken – adapt them or make up your own rules if these don’t work for you. The most important thing is to ensure that your art is well displayed and appreciated. Do not buy art just because it coordinates with your furnishings. Pick one or two main colors from your artwork and then purchase throw pillows to match; add a bowl of fruit in a corresponding color. Human eye level is the recommended height for placing artwork on the wall. Galleries utilize this suggestion by placing pieces in a way that allows their midpoint to be at the five foot mark. Large mats can really make a smaller piece of art look more appealing. White or off-white walls provide the best background for an art display.
